Com a descida dos rios devido à estiagem, a Prefeitura de Manaus, por meio da Secretaria Municipal de Limpeza Urbana (Semulsp), intensifica, nesta quinta-feira, 22/10, os serviços de capina e coleta de lixo na orla de Manaus, no Centro, zona Sul da capital. A ação mobiliza 500 garis e máquinas de suporte de retirada dos resíduos, balsas e caçambas.
O subsecretário da Semulsp, Leandro Mendes, informou que a ação é realizada de forma contínua durante todo o ano, mas que no período de estiagem é reforçada para retirar dos rios o máximo de resíduos.
“A Prefeitura de Manaus está realizando essa grande ação, que se intensificou devido à descida das águas. Conforme os rios vão secando, esses resíduos vão aparecendo. Esse trabalho é feito de forma contínua durante todo o ano. A balsa que está recebendo esse resíduo, ela sempre fica na orla de Manaus. Conforme o lixo vai aparecendo, nós vamos reforçando com mais garis para que o trabalho não demore”, afirmou o subsecretário.
Além das ações de retirada de lixo na orla, a Semulsp realiza a coleta de resíduos nas ecobarreiras, que impedem o avanço do lixo para os rios e igarapés, agilizando os trabalhos das equipes de limpeza e contribuindo para manter a cidade mais limpa.
O subsecretário ressalta que, apesar dos serviços de limpeza, a população tem um papel importante nesse processo. Segundo ele, a conscientização ajuda a reduzir o descarte irregular de resíduos e os gastos com a limpeza dos rios.
“A prefeitura e a Semulsp fazem esse apelo para que a população descarte o seu lixo no local correto. O descarte incorreto para aqui nos rios e essa operação é complicada, porque o acesso é por terra ou pela água. Devido à estiagem, a balsa não consegue encostar e, muitas vezes, precisamos fazer o trabalho manual”, explicou.
A limpeza é necessária para manutenção dos rios limpos, para a facilidade dos barcos de atracarem e também para os trabalhadores que dependem dessa área. O mecânico Valdecir Delfino, de 50 anos, comentou que o problema persiste todos os anos, mas que a limpeza realizada pela prefeitura contribui para melhorar a vida de quem depende do local.
“Quando tira o lixo fica melhor, porque aqui passam barcos e passam pessoas. Quando está cheio de lixo ninguém pode passar, mas é por isso que é bom ter a limpeza. Isso aqui é prioridade da cidade, tem que ser feito, porque quando seca, todo ano fica desse jeito. Esse entulho vem todo de dentro da cidade, mas vem parar aqui por ser a parada do igarapé”, disse o mecânico.
